Tires damages

No wounds or deformation may be neglected. Any abnormal event (deformation of the sidewall or the tread, deep cuts, breaks, vibrations, sudden shifts of the vehicle, etc.) should be subject to review. The diagnosis will determine if the tire is repairable or not.

Fast Abnormal wear

It is identified by striations visible in the tread and the burrs, more or less pronounced, the edges on one side of the clubs, drag caused by rolling with transverse.

Possibles Causes:

  1. Incorrect alignment, front or rear of the tires
  2. Incorrect alignment wheelbase

Advices:

  1. Check and correct the alignment, the correction must take into account the form of wear and the characteristics of the vehicle.
  2. Check the suspension parts and steering

Center wear

It is identified by a more pronounced wear in the center of the tread

Possibles Causes:

  1. Excessive inflation pressure
  2. Pressure not adapted

Advices:

  1. Monitor the filling pressures in cold
  2. Inflate the pressure recommended by the manufacturer and adapted to the conditions of use

Wear shoulder

It is identified by a more pronounced wear on the shoulders of the tread.

Possibles Causes:

  1. Insufficient inflation pressure
  2. Use in overhead

Advices:

  1. Monitor the filling pressures in cold and adapt them to conditions of use
  2. Respect the maximum load capacity per tire
  3. Eliminate possible air leaks

Irregular wear

Wear often difficult to define: sloping, wave-shaped, faceted …

Possibles Causes:

  1. Misfits or slacks  in suspension parts and steering
  2. Imbalances in joint rolling
  3. Incorrect mounts
  4. Incorrect double mounts
  5. Braking system malfunction
  6. Insufficient inflation pressure

Advices:

  1. Check the mechanics and geometry of the axes (suspension, steering and brakes)
  2. Check the mounting, balancing and tire pressure
  3. If possible, swap the tires

Tread separation

Localized or generalized, should normally an overheating produced by abnormal bending, that can lead to degradation constituents and speak out subsequent separation. Is also produced by the degradation of components due to external causes (commonly tread oxidation).

Possibles Causes:

  1. Running with insufficient pressure
  2. Use in overhead
  3. Tires that do not comply the specifications of the vehicle manufacturer
  4. Poor Maintenance
  5. Cuts, wounds or other injuries that reach up to tread

Advices:

  1. Regularly check the pressure in cold
  2. Follow the manufacturer's specifications (pressure, Load Index, Speed Index)
  3. Always use a valve cap for hermetic type
  4. Never remove the air on travel
  5. Examine all vehicle tires
  6. Repair holes and wounds with methods recommended by the manufacturers
  7. Regularly check tire condition

Break shock

When a tire bumps into an obstacle, suffers excessive stress caused by deformations, that can cause a rupture located of the carcase. The consequences may not be immediate and are not always externally visible. The running can aggravate the damage and can manifest by a rupture with an instantaneous loss of air.

Possibles Causes:

  1. Shock with obstacles
  2. Shock with holes

Advices:

  1. Change the tire and check the condition of the wheel

Consequences of insufficient pressure

Under inflation results in excessive flexing of the tire, causing an abnormal warming and irreversible damages. The manifestations and consequences caused by insufficient pressures may be presented in the following ways:
